Hey folks! Have you ever been to the Mediterranean island Malta? We doubt it – well, we have and are now your personal “Mooohlta” guides. Together as a class we have explored various sights, made new friends, and gained a lot of experience regarding the Maltese lifestyle – all of which we’re going to talk about now.
Starting off with our living situation, we want to address the host families that we were staying with. We got an in-depth insight into the daily life and food culture of a Maltese family. Don’t be surprised if you find foreign students in your bedroom or have to pay for your water. You get breakfast and dinner at home and a lunch sandwich will be provided – but beware, our personal description of the sandwiches would be: nasty. Period. No further comments needed.
Moving on to something more uplifting! The power of friendship has struck once again – our former enemies have now become our homies. After five years of competitive back-stabbing we finally got the enlightenment of an alliance between the 6A and the 6B. Through our shared experience of the high-praised “CHOCO LOCO”- ice cream we have formed an unbreakable bond of friendship.
Together with our new-found companions we have spent many hours in our beloved bus and explored the most extraordinary sights of the island. Just to give you a little teaser of our trip: In Mdina, the silent, fortified city, we could see some of the locations where “Game of Thrones” was shot. After having learnt about the city's ancient history, we were to go on a treasure hunt ourselves! Another notable activity we did was the boat tour through the “Blue Grotto” – a mesmerizing cliff formation with clear blue water the beauty of which impressed us!
All in all, it is safe to say that we had the time of our lives in Malta, despite the little obstacles that we had to face! We’re convinced that we have grown with this amazing trip, and we can definitely recommend visiting the island and getting the real-life first-hand Malta experience! If you have any further question, feel free to let us know!
